About the Practice
Kundalini Yoga is a multi-faceted practice used to foster dormant creative energy, and direct it throughout the body. It may look very different then the yoga you might be used to. The exercises are done for set amounts of time that vary depending on what is being done. Most are repetitive movements rather than static postures. It’s less about flexibility and more about training the Nervous & Endocrine Systems to respond to stress in a healthy way. This is done through layering several different things into every posture. This could include conscious breathing, eye movement, mudras (hand positions) and mantras to form a moving meditation. Even though its highly sophisticated, Kundalini is very approachable, even first time students. So whether you’re new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice there’s something here for everyone.
Some benefits of a consistent Kundalini practice are:
Increased circulation of Blood and Lymph throughout the body, which helps reduce inflammation
Expanded Lung capacity from various breathing techniques
Increased Immune function
Mental clarity from wiring left and right hemispheres of the Brain together
Lower stress levels and better overall mood
